Well. The girl at the front didn't know what a flat bar was. Another fella didn't know what end-nipper pliers were. They are over priced and I have a feeling that I would rather trek up to Menards than buy from them. However... As a local establishment, they are probably (as of 2017) one of the better businesses in town.
I love having a hardware store in town! Brookston Hardware and Supply is a new in town, owned and operated by local people. We really needed a hardware and they are doing a super job of it. I build and repair a lot of stuff in my various adventures and it is so nice to have a well-run, local hardware.
Very disappointed, I have always found the personnel extremely helpful. Yesterday all new faces! When I asked to have paint mixed a joke was made that due to the size of the can it might not be precise. It was precise the last time I had it mixed. Did not instill confidence in the paint I was purchasing.
They carry a full line, including: plumbing, heating & cooling, paint, electrical, cleaning products, nuts and bolts and fasteners, tools, and so on. Just this week I was pleasantly surprised to see that they carry flowers and vegetable seedlings! If they don't have what you need, they will get it in for you. Check it out -- these guys are really doing it right.
Good selection for small town store and very friendly service! Been in here a few times now for screws, super glue, spray paint, and other stuff. Never had any issues.
placed order online, got charged and a order confirmation. seemed simple enough. Waited two weeks never saw item or even heard from company. Called them up said the had an issue with shipping and charges, I paid what was told to pay.. Then told the website was new and the bugs had not been worked out and my order was cancelled. Now I have a safety issue not dealt with for 2 weeks plus however long it takes to get item from somewhere else. Thanks a lot. One would think they would at least be willing to work with me, after all it was a brookston issue not mine.
